City Switches to BSA Only, Saves Estimated $500,000

AMARILLO, TEXAS - After almost 20 years of exclusive coverage with Northwest Texas Hospital, starting January 1st all city employees will only be able to go to Baptist Saint Anthony's for their medical needs.

The city commission made the switch at a meeting Tuesday night. The decision came after months of research by a third party auditor relayed a savings of about $500,000 every year.

The contract is good for one year - so in 2011 both hospitals will have another chance to make their best offers.
