Fighting a Growing Crime By Helping Offender

AMARILLO, TEXAS - A newly accredited program in Amarillo hopes to keep the city safer from domestic violence. Domestic violence calls in Amarillo are up 42 percent from last year. And experts say the majority of offenders will strike again -- often escalating in violence.

The program at Family Support Services hopes to keep that from happening by working with the offenders after the first time they're caught.

So far, they say they've seen success in reprogramming the mindset of the abuser.
