Amarillo, Texas - A 70-year-old woman sits behind bars after reportedly being involved in a drive-by shooting.
This is something you definitely don't hear about everyday... A possible gun-toting grandma. According to police, a 70-year-old woman gets out of her car in the 400 block of Jefferson in Amarillo, pulls out a pistol and fires five rounds at a man after a heated argument, then drives way.
Her name is Mary Kathryn Green from Amarillo.
The man she was firing at is 52-year-old Arthur Lee Crain, who she is believed to have been in some sort of relationship with.
None of the bullets hit him, but one round did hit a house. Luckily, no one inside was hurt in the gunfire.
Crain was able to give police Green's name, along with her address and a vehicle description.
Cpl. Jerry Neufeld with the Amarillo Police Department says, "there is potential for something like this to happen. There's no reason to think once somebody gets over a certain age they're not capable of committing violent acts because they are."
