Continued Search for Dumas Man

Port Mansfield, TX -The search continues today for a Dumas man after his plane crashed near Port Mansfield. Authorities have found the cockpit of the missing twin engine aircraft just off the coast.

The body of Sunray man, 48-year-old Robert Robinett was found yesterday in the waters of Laguna Madre. Authorities are still searching for Robinett's pilot and brother-in-law Harvey Kinikin of Dumas. But due to visibility issues, divers from hHoustonare being brought in to search the wreckage. 

"Several boats are out there on the water right now. We also have divers from the Brownsville Fire Department that arrived at daybreak this morning. We have our game wardens and they are presently searching at the crash site," says Captain Kevin Mcdonald of Texas Park and Wildlife.

 NewsChannel 10 met exclusively with the family of Robinett this afternoon. His sister Melissa says the reality still hasn't set in over the loss of their family member.  "He was a loving dad, brother, and son. He did a lot for his church, family and friends. I just want everyone to know what a big heart my big brother Jimbo has. ThThank youor all the prayers. Please keep praying for haHarvey'samily. He was an awawesomend great person too."

Robinett's wife and two children are in Port Mansfield right now waiting on the results of the autopsy.
