Claude ISD Employee Killed In Morning Accident

Amarillo, Texas - Icy roads are said to be the cause of a deadly wreck in Armstrong County.

Department of Public Safety troopers say the wreck happened Tuesday morning on Highway 207 near the Palo Duro Canyon. They say the driver was traveling to pick up rural students in Wayside when he lost control of the suburban. The vehicle then plunged over a cliff and crashed 90 feet below.

The driver, 64 year old Tom Cruise, was killed on impact. No students were in the vehicle at the time. Cruise had been employed by Claude ISD for the past two years.
