TX AG Comparison Web Site Warning

Many shoppers will use price-comparison web sites before making a purchase online.

But Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has a warning about those sites.

He says several "price-comparison" web sites are unlawfully misleading online shoppers.

"These companies we are suing promise independent, reliable and trust worthy comparison price information. What we uncovered was a cash for ratings scheme," said Abbott.

Some of the sites in the lawsuit include shopcartusa.com, Didyouprice.com, Flyingprices.com and digitalsaver.com.

Texans who believe they have been deceived by similar fraudulent business practices may call the Office of the Attorney General's toll-free complaint line at (800) 252-8011 or file a complaint online at www.texasattorneygeneral.gov http://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov.
