Amarillo, Texas - Your drinking water has been ensured for decades to come and it will only cost a little more on your water bill.

Tuesday the Amarillo City Commission saved the city more than $30 million in interest rate financing costs for two projects related to water. Bonds were approved for a new pump at the Osage Water Plant and for the completion of the Potter County Wellfield Project.

Mayor Debra McCartt says, "We are assured of more water coming into Amarillo for the next many, many years. And not only having water come in to the city but we also approved a new pump station so, we're very excited about the opportunity to get the water here and then to distribute the water to the community."

The city also approved a new traffic signal pre-emption system for emergency vehicles
