AMARILLO, TEXAS - More animals are being put to sleep in Amarillo than ever before. Humane Society Director Andrea Soliz says adoptions have fallen 30 percent since last year, but the number of abandoned animals steadily grows.

Every day 50-100 animals come to the shelter. Only about 10 percent of them will ever get adopted. The rest will have to be put to sleep.
