New School of Pharmacy Building

Amarillo, Texas - A new Pharmacy Academic Center is open for business today, expanding Texas Tech's commitment to Amarillo.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Once the building is fully up, the School of Pharmacy will be able to increase its Amarillo class size to 115 students - 25 more than it has now.  Arthur Nelson, Dean of the School of Pharmacy says, "One, it provides a space to educate more pharmacists for the future, but it also recognizes a tremendous investment that the state of Texas and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is planning in the Amarillo community and the greater panhandle area.

Staff and administrators are starting to move into the building. More than a hundred classrooms will occupy the 23-thousand square-foot facility.
