Hastings: Worst Is Over for Area

AMARILLO, TEXAS - The Panhandle has already seen the worst of this recession - if one major employer and retail chain is any sign.

Just three months ago Hastings reported their worst quarterly earnings ever. But Monday's announcement is their best news this year.

They've gone from seeing a 6.7 percent decrease in revenues from last year to 1.7 percent decrease.

The public also seems to believe the worst is over.

Monday was the first time their stock has gone up after an earnings release in about two years.
