Man Kills Pedestrian, Sentenced to 5 Years Behind Bars

Amarillo, Texas - The man who killed one pedestrian and sent another to the hospital is sentenced to five years behind bars.

A Randall County jury found 55-year-old Garry Dale Moore guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sentencing him to the jail time plus ten years probation.

Moore hit two women with his car on Petersen Road near McCormick and Western back in September of 2007.

One of the women, June Whitson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other pedestrian, Andrea Craig, was transported to the hospital with broken bones.
