Bell Helicopter Revenue

A major local employer is hurting because of a national political conflict.

Bell Helicopter reported a drop in revenue of $74 million, or ten percent, over last year's third quarter.

Bell's leaders credit the cut to a lack of demand in military aircraft.

But during the reporting period, Bell faced temporarily delays in orders when a senator from the north-east questioned the osprey's effectiveness in desert areas.

That claim was later refuted by the department of defense as playing politics and not accurate.
