Dalhart, Texas -  All Dalhart ISD schools are on lockdown right now while law enforcement officials search for a man involved in an overnight murder in Dalhart. The school Superintendent tells us all campuses will remain on a security lockdown for the entire day. He says all doors and windows will remain locked and guarded until further notice.

Dalhart police says they are looking for 78 year old Jose Abel Cancino who is suspected of shooting and killing his wife in front of their two grandchildren at a Dalhart apartment complex early this morning.  Dalhart Police Chief Tom Sanford said a Murder warrant has been issued for Cancino. The Department of Public Safety helicopter is assisting in the search.

We're told 63-year-old Elva Perez Cancino told Jose to move out, then he shot her with a pistol. Police say their teenage grandchildren, a brother and sister, witnessed the shooting.
