PORTALS, NEW MEXICO - A grieving portals family is asking you to not drink and drive -- even if it's just one beer.

21-year-old Ashleah Richards was driving her friends home Sunday when law enforcement says a truck crossed into oncoming traffic, striking their car, and killing only her. DPS suspects alcohol was involved and that the driver of the truck will face charges once the toxicology reports come back.

In the meantime, Ashleah's family and friends want to spread the message -- deaths like hers can be prevented.

Richards was a college student from Portales. That night she volunteered to be a designated driver for friends --- only to die in an alcohol related crash anyway.
