Street Racing Sends Two Kids To Hospital, One Arrested

Amarillo, Texas - One juvenile is arrested and two others are taken to the hospital after police say they wrecked while street racing. Police tell us it happened just before 1:00 near the intersection of 18th and S. Eastern.

They say the driver of one of the vehicle lost control at a high rate of speed, then struck a pole at a nearby gas station. The other car struck a curb and blew out a front tire. Both the driver and passenger in one of the cars were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The driver of the second car was arrested and taken to the Youth Center of the High Plains. He is charged with Racing Causing Bodily Injury, a third degree felony.

Charges are pending on the other driver.
