Drug Houses Next to Rehab Program Come Down

AMARILLO, TEXAS - A tear-down on Monday to build-up the chances for recovering drug addicts to succeed. This was a dream eight years in the making for one local non-profit.

Police reports show both of the structures that were torn down used to be hot-spots for drug activity.

They were right next door to a housing program for men in recovery called Another Chance House.

So for years recovering addicts were slammed right up against places to buy drugs -- making it tough to stay sober.

The money for the tear-down came from grants to the agency.
