Area World War 2 veterans returned to Amarillo Friday night after their honor flight to Washington, D.C.
Around 75 vets made this year's three day trip.
They toured the World War 2 Memorial and other war memorials.
This year's flight also included stops at the Pentagon, and Walter Reed Hospital to meet with wounded troops.
The trip brought out many emotions, memories long repressed, and an appreciation for home.
The veterans received a warm reception everywhere they went.
Countless people around the capital shook their hands, gave them hugs, and took the time to show their appreciation.
