Irving, Texas - A fugitive from Amarillo is on his way to a higher security prison in Hunstville after his capture Wednesday.

21 year old Joshua Duane Barnes surrendered to police today after hiding out in an abandoned house in Irving.

A spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice says Barnes faces a new batch of charges after his Saturday prison break in Galveston. She says he could be charged with felony escape, auto theft, and robbery.

Barnes was already serving 35 years for charges out of Randall and Potter counties, including escape and aggravated robbery.
