Spike In Vehicle Burglaries In Amarillo

Amarillo, Texas - A spike in auto burglaries occurring in parking lots of Amarillo businesses has caught the attention of police.

Amarillo police say last week alone, they responded to 111 auto burglary calls, with more than 20 in the past 24 hours. In an average week, police say they respond to anywhere from 35 to close to 70 calls.

Police remind people to take all valuables out of your car, and not to hide them under the seat or in the trunk.
