Amarillo, Texas - An agreement to house Potter County inmates at the Childress County Jail is approved by county commissioners Monday.

Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas says the agreement with Childress County was reached in the event that Potter County needs to use it. He says the per-day cost of housing an inmate in Childress was cost effective for the county.

There are no plans to send inmates from Potter County to the new addition of the Randall County jail because of cost reasons.
