AMARILLO, TEXAS - Getting clean from drugs and alcohol is never easy, but it's even harder when you can't find long term treatment. That's what's happening in our region.
The panhandle has no 30-day treatment programs -- meaning addicts go through detox and then immediately return to their normal lives, making it hard not to relapse.
To help solve the problem, a group of 30 police, non-profit directors and mental health professionals have been working to bring a long-term treatment facility here.
