About 20 of Amarillo's almost 200 collection mail boxes will be removed to cut-costs.
The news came out this afternoon, just one day after the postal service offered a $15,000 early retirement buyout to mailroom employees.
That's on top of a long list of cutbacks already this year such as:
-- a nationwide hiring freeze
--- stopping construction of new post offices
--- closing six district offices
--- adjusting hours and routes to reflect demand
