The Clarendon city council met Tuesday night to talk about how much money should be given to the Donley Co. Sheriff's Department.
It all comes down to this..How much is too much when it comes to residents safety.
Without this money from the city the sheriff says the community would suffer.
"We would lose 24 hour coverage and if you had to call 911 in the middle of the night," said Sheriff Butch Blackburn.
The city manager says though that something has to give and if the sheriff's budget isn't cut other things will be. Water..garbage services...etc.
The two main things he says will have to go are plans to higher a code enforcer and plans to buy a new dump truck.
