Classroom Confusion on First Day

Last week, we told you school districts across the state warned: get your kids vaccinated, or they won't be allowed into those school doors.

Today, the state health department backed off of those requirements --- pushing the deadline to October 1. But no one remembered to tell the parents.

About 60 kids showed up for a immunization clinic at Canyon's bus barn this morning, instead of going to school. That's because they thought they'd be turned away.

But as it turns out, the Texas Education Agency sent an e-mail out to all school districts this weekend.

That e-mail said the requirements would be pushed back because of shortage of supplies.
