Texas Teens Closing in on National ACT Average

Things are looking up for Texas teens... More of them appear to be ready for college.

For the fourth year in a row, high school graduates in Texas are showing signs on improvement on the ACT.

The average score this year was 20.8.

That's the closet it's ever been to the national average of 21.1.

The test is scored out of a total of 36 points.

Despite those improvements, 75% of Texas teens still fail to meet the college readiness standards.
