Canyon, Texas - Heat stroke is determined as the cause of death of a hiker found in the Palo Duro Canyon.

The Randall County Sheriff's Department says hikers discovered the body of 24 year old Nathan Kyle Neel Friday afternoon. An autopsy performed in Lubbock earlier today shows that Neel died of heat exhaustion, which led to the stroke.

Funeral services are pending for Neel in his hometown of New Home.
