Amarillo, TX - A government program aimed at helping one industry appears to be crippling another.
Several national leaders including the president called cash for clunkers such a success that it ran out of money. But at Top Gun Auto repair, they have a very different opinion.
Business here has dropped off since the program started. So much so, that yesterday they only did fifty dollars worth of repairs.
Which is strange because this time of year, business normally grows. That's because they see an increase in student cars that need back to school repairs.
They say the problem is that a lot of the old cars they were repairing are now off the road. That's because so many were turned in during cash for clunkers.
