Strong Winds Damage Buildings, Knock Out Power in Childress

Childress, TX

Winds gusting around 100mph damaged buildings, knocked out power, and knocked down trees in Chidlress late Wednesday night.

The Childress County Sheriff's Office says the storm blew over a wall at the Childress Inn, trapping people there for a short time.

Another motel in the city, and the VFW, lost their roofs.

Numerous trees are down around the city as well.

Even with all the damage, the Sheriff's Office says the storm did not cause any serious injuries.
