Teen Driver Deaths

A new trend is settling old concerns about teenager safety on the road. Texas teens are becoming safer drivers at a faster and steadier rate than the rest of the nation.

According to a study out today, the number of teen drivers in fatal crashes has dropped more than 33 percent in five years. At the same time, that number has risen across most of the country.

These results are the opposite of what was expected. Before today, experts have considered Texas' driving laws too lax on teenagers.

That's because more than a third of new drivers take driver's ed with their parents and a street driving test is not always required to get your licence.
