Dallam County, Texas - The panhandle area extends its commitment to more wind energy power.

A new data center in Dallam County will be the first of its kind to be powered solely on wind power.

The data center, or server farm, is expected to draw all of it's power from 100 wind turbines for government and private businesses to house computer systems in a secure area, and sell the rest to area power grids.

Houston-based Baryonyx Corporation plans to pay to lease 8,064 acres of Permanent School Fund land for the world's first Tier-4 green data center.

The state of Texas is expected to make hundreds of thousands of dollars for schools, prisons, and cities off the lease of the land in Dallam County.
