The Big Texas Showdown 2 Has Invaded Amarillo

The Big Texas Shindig 2 is in Amarillo this week.

The National Junior Limousin Show and Congress is in Amarillo all week.

200 kids and families are having a ball showing cattle.

Limousin cattle are a strong breed that are known for their ease of calving and good milking ability.

Amarillo was chosen for the show because of the nice folks here."Well we were here in 2002 and the way we were treated in Amarillo the city the hotels and especially the fairgrounds we decided to come back" - Bret Begert ,Show Chaiman.

Thirty states are represented this week. In addition to showing , the youth will be participating in a quiz bowl, sales talks and a cooking contest.

The main event is Friday morning with the Futurity and the naming of the Grand Champion.

The estimated economic impact for Amarillo is $630,000. There are only 4 kids from the Panhandle showing.
