Funds for a new fire station were approved a year and a half ago, but the planned site still sits empty.
The station is supposed to go up here at western and west-hills.
It will replace this ageing station down the road that's about 50 years old.
But eighteen months into the project, the station is nothing but this empty lot.
City representatives say a lot goes into construction like this. Such as multiple redesigns to make the new station safer and cheaper.
From the original concept to designs today - the project cost has been cut by about half a million dollars.
The final designs and contractor bids on this project are expected to go before the city commission sometime this month.
