Retail gas drops every day this week

NEW YORK (AP) _ Pump prices have fallen every day this week, with the national average for gasoline now just under $2.66 a gallon.

Today's less-than-a-penny drop came as U.S. storage facilities swelled with unused gasoline. A gallon of gas added an average of 22.4 cents in the past month as prices surged for 54 straight days before the streak came to a close Monday.

One oil analyst says he thinks gasoline prices have peaked but that the situation in oil-producing Iran will remain a "real wild card.'' Meanwhile benchmark crude for August delivery fell $1.07 cents today to settle at $69.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
