CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) - A man who escaped from the Curry County Jail last summer has been sentenced to 9 1/2 years in prison.
Michael England, 30, was sentenced Monday to 4 years for his jail escape conviction, which stemmed from the Aug. 24 escape of 8 inmates from the Clovis facility. He was recaptured Oct. 13.
England also was sentenced to a 5 1/2-year term for a tampering with evidence conviction in an unrelated 2007 murder case.
State District Judge Stephen Quinn ordered that the sentences will be served consecutively.
