$300,000 In Federal Funds Coming To Texas Panhandle

Amarillo, Texas - Over $300,000 dollars will soon come to several counties in our area to help boost local economies.

As part of the federal Payment In Lieu of Taxes program, seven counties in the Texas panhandle will receive money for having federally owned land: Dallam, Gray, Hardeman, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Moore, and Potter counties.

Money from the program, as part of the Department of the Interior, will help to pay for services such as firefighters, schools, water systems and roads.

Dallam county - $176,468

Gray county - $473

Hardeman county - 1,920

Hemphill county - $188

Hutchinson county - $23,885

Moore county - $26,152

Potter county - $84,222
