Canyon, Texas - Every year around one hundred and fifty students leave Canyon ISD because of grades, they drop out or just need more attention.
The new school's principal hopes this facility will at least cut that number in half.
The facility will serve students with disciplinary problems, those who have a hard time with regular school either academically or socially, and any other students who apply and are accepted into the program.
The new facility will be quite different from a traditional classroom environment like this.
For starters, there are no bells or set class schedules - and with only eight students for every teacher, lesson plans will be tailored for each person.
Once construction is finished, the school will take a pilot group of students to test the waters.
