Bones Hooks splashpad

The Amarillo City Commission has voted to keep the kids cool this summer at Bones Hooks Park.

The Commission decided to replace the existing swimming pool with a new splashpad.  the city says the pads are an immense attraction where kids can engage in safe water play.

They say attendance at the Bones Hooks Park Pool has declined, possibly due to the popularity of the pool at Thompson Park.  Similar splashpads have been created at Benton and Southlawn Parks.

Some of the funding will come from the community development block grant.
