More stimulus funds being used

The North Heights will see a new sidewalk and playgrounds will be built in Northeast Amarillo.

The Commission has voted to conduct a public hearing to use more than $450.000 of stimulus funding.

That money would be spent on various projects, including a new sidewalk on the west side of North Hughes Street from Amarillo Boulevard to Northeast 24th.  Also, playgrounds at Forest Hills and Eastridge Park would be built to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Money would also be used to add to the emergency repair grant program.
