AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The $182 billion Texas budget is on its way to governor's desk.
After almost six months of work, the House approved the budget by a 142-2 vote, the final step in the legislative process.
The budget, which depends on $12.1 billion from the federal economic stimulus money, pays for state agencies and programs over the next two years. Most of the money is dedicated to education and health care.
About $80 billion of the budget is state money, mostly revenue from various taxes and fees.
