Attempted Rape, Assault at Guymon hotel

A convicted felon is back in jail in Guymon facing a number of charges including attempted rape, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

The Guymon Police Chief says they arrested 42 year old Clifford Gene Davis in the hotel room at the Executive Inn where the assault reportedly took place.

The victim escaped from the hotel after Davis passed out, and went to the hospital for treatment.

Hospital staff called police.

The victim told officers Davis bound, beat, and sexually attacked her.

Police went to the hotel and made the arrest, but Davis escaped from the handcuffs and ran.

Officers chased and arrested him again.

A jury convicted Davis in 2006 for an assault.

He received a five year suspended sentence for that crime, which kept him out of jail.
