After instances of smuggling narcotics and weapons into the Curry County courthouse, the district attorney wants some changes.
Right now, the courthouse opens at 7 a.m., with no security. D. A. Matthew Chandler wants it to open at 8, when security gets there.
He also wants everyone to come in and go out of the courthouse at the same place and through a metal detector.
He asked the county commission Tuesday morning to put these requests in action immediately.
This comes just weeks after someone brought a 9mm handgun into the courthouse.
