Clarendon dealership shuts doors

The Stanley Chevrolet dealership in Clarendon is out of business.

This morning employees met with corporate representatives from Stanley who told them the business is shutting its doors.

Inventory was moved to several locations.  About 15 employees were laid-off.

One employee told NewsChannel 10 that they knew the closing was a possibility, with rumors of GM difficulties and the fact that the Clarendon dealership was one of Stanley's smallest.

Stanley owned the dealership since 2006. The site was long the home of Chamberlain Motors.
