Health officials are scaling back when it comes to the H1N1 flu.
The last state conference call was on Wednesday afternoon, and the Centers for Disease Control is relaxing their efforts as well.
Local health officials say the reason is that the virus does not appear to be as severe as it was once thought to be. Health Authority Todd Bell says, "As we learn more about this virus and we see how this virus affects individuals, it would appear that this virus is a mild respiratory virus. It's one that acts very similar to what the seasonal flu outbreak would typically look like."
As of Wednesday afternoon at 2pm, there are no confirmed H1N1 cases in Potter and Randall counties. We are still waiting to get the results back from Lubbock on twelve suspect cases.
