Loc Dang murder suspect pleads guilty

A teenager will spend at least 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to two home invasions and a murder Tuesday.

Phoung Vein Pham, 19 years old, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole for the home invasion and murder of 52-year-old Loc Dang last year.

His guilty plea reduced his capital murder charge to murder.

The Potter County District Attorney's office says he was not the shooter in the murder.

Pham pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault from the May 2008 invasion and one count of aggravated robbery from the February 2008 invasion.

February 2008 Invasion:

  • Offense- Aggravated Robbery
  • Punishment- Life (30 years day for day before eligible for parole)

May 2008 Invasion and Murder:

  • Offense- Capital Murder pleaded down to Murder
  • Punishment- Life (30 years day for day before eligible for parole)
  • Offense- Aggravated Assault (2)
  • Punishment- 20 Years Texas Department of Criminal Justice (10 years day for day before eligible for parole)

Pham's brother and another defendant still have cases pending for this series of events.
