Suspected H1N1 Cases Jump to 17

by: Kristen Guilfoos

As of 9:00pm on Monday, May 4th, there are 17 suspect H1N1 flu cases in the Amarillo area. That's up from just eight cases the day before.

These cases are not confirmed... They are only suspect, which means the patients tested positive for Influenza-A. At least six of those potential victims are children.

All of those rapid-flu tests are in line in Lubbock to be tested at the state lab.

Those state results will provide more insight into whether it's actually H1N1...and then if necessary, the CDC will make the final diagnosis.

It will most likely be several more days before we will know any of the results.
