The Greater Southwest Music Festival has been canceled.
Organizers say only briefly after telling NewsChannel 10 that the festival would carry on, too many schools from outside the Amarillo Area began canceling because superintendents didn't want the kids to travel.
Kathy Fishburn, Executive Director of the festival says she and other organizers feared they would be the only ones present at the festival.
The Festival brings middle and high school student musicians from across the area to compete.
Organizers are currently looking at financial liabilities and hope to return some of the money to the schools.
