Senator John Cornyn Visits the Panhandle

From the nation's capital to right here in Amarillo, U.S. Senator John Cornyn made his first appearance in the Panhandle in over a year today.

He met with families at the Don Harrington Discovery Center to talk about issues he says are important to the Panhandle.

He says spending in Washington is out of control, and he's working right now to bring conservative values back to Capitol Hill.

"Bigger government isn't the answer to everything. Because it comes with higher taxes. And it comes with shrinking individual liberty. Individual initiative and freedom and entrepreneurship is not only what has made our economy strong, but made us the envy of the world," Senator Cornyn said.

He also took time to meet with constituents this afternoon, and a group of local lawyers this morning.
