A man who admitted to robbing an Amarillo National Bank branch could spend more than five years in prison.

On Wednesday, William Eugene Boyd pleaded guilty to robbing the Amarillo National Bank branch at 24th & Grand last November.

He threatened a teller with a pistol and demanded money. He ran and then turned himself in to Amarillo police the following day.

In addition to serving more than five years in prison Boyd must also pay more than 36-hundred dollars in fines
