Web Exclusive: Amarillo Man Busted With Pot On Mexico Border

An Amarillo man is being held in the Big Bend area of Texas after he was caught trying to smuggle 910 pounds of Marijuana through a Border Patrol checkpoint near Marfa, Texas.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say a K-9 unit alerted to the drugs hidden inside the man's horse trailer that was being pulled by his pickup. CBP officials say they discovered 193 bundles of marijuana inside the trailer. The drugs have an estimated street value of $728,000.

The man's name is not being released at this time. CBP officials say he is a legal permanent resident of the United States, but is originally from Mexico.
