Double Murder Suspect Held On $1M Bond

New details in the murders of two people in Amarillo.

Officials say Wilbert Ramon Banks is being held in Potter County on a $1 million cash only bond for a murder charge.  He also has a $50,000 cash only bond for an assault charge.

Early Saturday morning officers found the bodies of Daniel Brittain and Stephanie Beard, both 24, at a home in the three thousand block of Westhaven.

Police say Banks fatally shot them over a prior domestic violence complaint against him and another uninjured witness to the shootings.  Four children and two other people were in the home unharmed.

Those children are now with relatives and the two witnesses are in protective custody after naming Banks as the shooter.
